For this project in the Montney Formation, HydrEra operated in two separate field locations. A total of 53,000 m³ of fluid was transferred and 6 pumping stations were used.
The Vaca Muerta Formation, Argentina
- Location: The Vaca Muerta Formation in Malargue, Mendoza Province, Argentina
- Tank Size: 1 x 10,700 m³, 1 x 8200 m³, complete secondary containment
- Liner Material: Double lined LLDPE, with HydrEra Leak Detection System
- Fluid: Flowback received from production facility into small tank, chemical added, recirculated into larger tank. Recirculated flowback while adding chemicals to knock out H2S. Pump flowback to well sites for use in frac operations
- Equipment: 80 ton crane, telehandler, 375 hp HydrEra pumps, 10” layflat hose, HydrEra chemical injection system
- Personnel: 10 men on tank and containment installation, 8 men on fluid transfer, 12 hour operations
- Conditions: Ambient temperature of approximately 28°C/82°F, wind speed 15to 40 km per hour / 9 to 25 miles per hour

In this particular project, we installed our ASTs on a fully enclosed secondary containment provided by them. These tanks featured wildlife protection and leak detection systems, which have successfully resulted in zero incidents or spills to date.

For this project we provided flowback storage on 7 different locations, pumping through underground and overland pipelines and truck offload stations. It was a complete field operation moving flowback to support the fracture operation.
